For several years are followed rumor about making a film based on the famous saga of Gears of War, culminating in 2016 with the announcement by Universal Studios and Rod Fergusson of The Coalition that confirming the start of production. Only in may 2017 it was revealed that the script of the film would go into the hands of Shane Salerno , famous for several feature films including Armageddon, Alien vs Predator and the whole saga sequel to Avatar .

Since last year we didn't have any updates on the continuation of the film, and Universal today announced the change of writer claiming to have given the reins of the project to f. Scott Frazier , known for Autobahn -Out of control of the 2016 but especially for the newest xXx: the return of Xander Cage .

At the moment we don't know whether f. Scott Frazier will inherit the script written by his predecessor Shane Salerno or whether it should rewrite from scratch but it is known that it will be supported by producers Dylan Clark, Scott Stube r and same Rod Fergusson . Q his return two years later by the choice of the first screenwriter assumes certainly an accomplishment of the film with longer and an end of the project still far away.
