Rumor: Blizzard is working on Diablo 4, codenamed Fenris
Thanks to an in-depth reportage website Kotaku , which allowed him to learn first-hand information directly from some developers (of course remain anonymous) to Blizzard.
It is right to note that as recently as a few weeks ago, at the last Blizzcon, Diablo fans ' community had heard loud and clear its disappointment at the lack of official statements about Diablo 4 , replaced (so to speak!) by the announcement of Diablo, Immortal incarnation of saga on mobile platform which certainly did not meet the expectations of the audience.
The story of the long-awaited Diablo 4 is in fact full of intricate and paradoxical situations. Blizzard games are known to be able to maintain a solid base of players for many years, but the time is now ripe for a new iteration of the saga. Especially since, as is clear from the survey published, the leaders at the company seem to have long ago lost confidence in the potential of Diablo III, reaching even to cancel a second expansion (expanding Reaper of Souls , Remember, 2014 is long gone).
The project under development called "Fenris" , apparently marked by a return to more bleak than the old Diablo II , was definitely in the hearts of fans: it seems legitimate to then expect a "modern" Diablo II deprived of the aspects considered "lighter" of Diablo III and enriched with elements such as MMO PvE raids in Destiny's style.
Among the leaked, check the interesting attempt to set the new game with third person view over his shoulder, although the latest build of the project would show a return to the classic isometric view.
The detail might also be important to explain this particularly long time management. Apparently confirmed that Josh Mosquiera, the console version of Diablo III, has led the development of the project Hades, thought to create a new Diablo very different from previous ones, a dungeon crawler much more like Dark Souls to fix, gloomy hues and, in fact, third-person view.
Hades in 2016, cleared the project it seems then that the development is happening now in another direction. Will certainly bear fruit ... Although with due "calm": of course we will keep you informed!
