Two worlds meet on Valentine's day in the puzzle-platformer Degrees of Separation
A hint of romance, however, is not bad, since the game starring a teenage couple from complementary powers.
She, Ember, comes from a land dominated by heat and is therefore able to melt the ice and evaporate water; the opposite instead Rhymes manages to freeze liquids, creating solid surfaces.
It's easy to imagine that these powers, which will supercharge metroidvania style, open an intriguing range of possibilities in terms of gameplay : the two protagonists must venture down a mysterious non-linear world , experimenting and working together to leverage their skills and solve complex puzzles, altering the environment to their advantage.
Frame Degrees of Separation as a mere platformer is likely to be an understatement, given that a lot of importance is given to innovative storytelling and deep. To guarantee the outcome, for the development of the game plot was called Chris Avellone, writer of proven ability and experience (fun fact: Avellone worked for both studios recently acquired by Microsoft, Obsidian and inxile) .
Although it is likely that Degrees of Separation gives better cooperation between two players, you can play it in single-player. Waiting for the next 14 February, we leave you meanwhile to the trailer of the game and a set of images: enjoy!
