Red Dead Redemption 2: new information from recent previews

Interaction with the characters:
- The game world will be much more alive and interactive than ever before. All the characters have their daily routines and day/night cycles, also react differently based on how to approach them. For example, if we walk with a gun in his hand, will tend to be cautious and thesis, or even hostile; If the gun will be holstered, will be more relaxed and friendly.
- To interact with the characters we can press one of the three front buttons of the pad to approach them in different ways: for example can be used to triangle Y a salutation, B for a hostile approach and circle X is to rob them. The associated actions to buttons, however, change over the course of the game and are influenced by the context, for example with a fisherman will have actions and reactions other than those that we might have with another gunman or a drunk.

Game world

Gang and camp:
- Our Gang, the gang 's Van der Linde, will his camp consisting of wagons and tents in which will carry on the daily life. This will be in effect for a tiny community in which we can have different interactions on a daily basis.

Hunting & supplies
- Hunting activity was expanded and improved considerably compared to the previous title. For example you can now use different types of skinning on our prey, which will allow us to attract different resources.
- The kills will be tied to the horse to take them sane at camp or in the city, or we can just take the skin to put in the inventory.
- The animals will have a lot of different animations and their behavior appears extremely realistic.
- The value of the kills will depend on how well we've torn down and with what weapons. A killed prey with an arrow to the skull will maintain a higher value than a perforated by a shotgun.
- Prey that we decide to take with us, tied to the horse they decay over time and that you will notice both visually and in the decrease of their value. If we shoot with a rotting animal associated with horse, we will get disgusted faces reactions from characters.
Horse
- This time we will be able to create a "deeper and emotional" connection with our horse, plus be able to interact in different ways in terms of gameplay. Rockstar explains that while in RDR the horse was a sort of "disposable vehicle", to be a real partner with whom we can RDR2 in a relationship much stronger. And stronger we will make this relationship, the better will be the characteristics of the horse.
- Much of the equipment will not be transportable in our inventory but will be held on the horse. Then the greater the bond with our horse and we can recall it faster to get access to our equipment.
- The horse may die. If he dies, we will have to start over the process of "bond" with the new steed. Developers explain that in this way our bond and affection with the horse will become even stronger and we do not want that understood anything wrong.
- If the horse is injured, we can use bandages and medicines to cure him and save him from death.
Robberies
- The game will have a system of robberies similar to GTA V, where we will have to plan the whole thing and decide the strategies. For example we may decide that a gang member will have to create a diversion in a Bank, so as to allow others to sneak up on the staff inside.
- We will have several options on how to carry out robberies, with different risk and reward: for example try to crack the safe will take longer and be riskier but will allow us to have all the money, while blow it will be faster and sure, but some of the content will eventually burn up.
