Rumor: Xbox will have marketing agreements for Borderlands 3, Cyberpunk, Splinter Cell and others
Before moving on to the list of games, we clarify for the less experienced what is a marketing agreement . This is an agreement between a hardware manufacturer and publisher to make some or all of the following collaborations:
- All official game trailer covered by the agreement will present only the console hardware manufacturer's logo and pictures. Example: the trailers of Anthem will show logos and graphics of the Xbox One
- The games covered by the agreement will show turn solely on the hardware manufacturer's console
- Official events (E3, Gamescom, etc) games covered by the agreement will be shown exclusively on stage at the hardware manufacturer as well as that of the publisher. Example: Anthem will be shown at E3 only onstage by Microsoft and EA
- Any post-launch DLC will arrive before the console hardware manufacturer
- Your hardware manufacturer actively advertise the games covered by the agreement across all your social networks and PR, in addition to creating special bundle/limited editions of your hardware with the interested
This clear, let's move to the list of games recommended by Rectify Gaming:
- Borderlands 3
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Splinter Cell
- Battlefield V
- Madden
- Anthem
Among all these, the agreement with EA for Anthem was already known, and also seems to miss another deal known, namely that with Deep Silver for Metro Exodus . The other titles are a real surprise, especially the new Splinter Cell so far only rumoreggiato .
If this is true, it means that at the next E3 will be able to see for the first time many of these titles-and watch the exclusive announcement of some of them--onstage Xbox; will then be shown only turn on Xbox One X and the Xbox logo will always be associated with these titles. This is not effective agreements (or expensive) as a real exclusive agreements, but will make the Xbox more visible and popular with those players who are interested in these securities.
If it is really so we'll find out in two months, during the E3: little Miss!
