Spencer: Microsoft will increase investments in studies and first party titles
Spencer explained that in the history of Microsoft there were periods when he invested more in producing games and others where you focused less on first-party content creation, but now the company is keen to ensure that the ability to create new games become one of their strengths.
This is definitely reassuring for those who feared that the House of Redmond was pulling the oars in the boat in terms of first-party titles, but for now I do not know either what will these new efforts, nor when will result in output of new titles. What we do know, however, is that MS is already working on several unannounced titles (some of them obvious, like Halo 6 and 4 Force Horizon), and that at E3 2018 we'll know more.
In a tweet disconnected from this talk, also, Spencer wanted to clarify a misinterpretation of his words in another interview, in which transpired had said that the exclusive Microsoft might arrive in the future on other platforms: the manager made it clear that he was referring to Minecraft, which we already know exist on other consoles, and that there are other similar plans outside of this.
We are very curious to see what the future holds now that Microsoft finally Xbox One X has come: the company will be able to concentrate fully on the production of new titles? We'll find out probably next year.
