In a couple of weeks since the release of Gears of War 4, The Coalition announced the arrival of the first "special event" of the game to celebrate the holiday of Halloween. The event will see the introduction of a temporary game mode called Pumpkin Ball , based on Dodgeball but with the addition of a timer to respawn set to one second, making the gameplay faster paced and with a chance to earn experience points.

This mode will be playable on 5 maps more obscure among those featured in the game, or Fallout, Forge, Harbor, Impact and Lift, and will also return in the series of "pumpkin heads, the heads from squash players.
