Here's how the system works in Gears Packs 4, Gears of War
Developers tell us that this system of cards will be a way to unlock in the game new elements in the game: Player customizations and weapons to equipment and skill to the Horde up to sizes that we reward for holding certain in-game tasks. The Coalition is keen to point out that all of this will have no impact in competitive multiplayer, where we will use only the cards of cosmetic type and sizes.
As in REQ by Halo 5 , Gears of War 4 cards will unlock objects of different levels of rarity, the municipality until Legendary. These kinds of cards that we can find in Gear Packs :
- Characters -Characters to use in the Horde or in competitive multiplayer. These papers include new characters or modified versions with alternative clothing of individuals already in the game.
- Skins Weapons – Customizations dedicated to specific weapons, including the ability to change the appearance of Power Weapons when obtained by a spawn point on the playing field.
- Emblems -symbols that appear next to your user name in the lobby and rankings.
- Plus – special quests for the Horde and competitive multiplayer, such as achieving 7 kills in a single game in Deathmatch. Perform these tasks allows you to have XP or additional credits. Cut cards are only deleted after successfully completing its task, then you can try to run them whenever we want.
- Equipment and Skill Horde – for now was not revealed anything about the promise that we'll know more in the coming months, but we can imagine that it is something very similar to what happens in the Warzone of Halo 5, with the ability to unlock defenses or special weapons to use against waves of enemies.
The Gear Packs will be obtainable by spending Credits, an in-game currency obtained after each match. You will also be able to buy credits with real currency, and this will be the game microtransactions component.
But big news compared to what we've seen in other similar card systems-based games will be the system of Creating Cards , which will allow us to destroy the cards in our hands to get Scraps, "scraps" that we can then spend in creating new cards, we can decide what they contain. Obviously this does not mean that we can destroy a handful of community cards to create a legendary card: the number of Scraps obtained from a paper and need to create a new one will be directly proportional to a rarity. Then destroy the community cards will give us a few Scraps, while creating a legendary card you will need a large amount.
And for lovers of collectors "physical", The Coalition also announced that will be distributed at various events--and then sold in stores-card package that, in addition to reproduce the look of the cards in-game, will report back to redeem codes for the same cards even in the game.
That's all for now: we leave you with a set of images showing the cards and some symbols we will encounter in the use of the same.
