Rumor: in February started the production of a second generation Xbox One

In the past few hours has emerged on the web the photograph of an alleged spreadsheet from Microsoft Japan, which quotes the start of production in February 2016 of a " second generation Xbox One ", with a production capacity of about 400,000 units per month.

The image also mentions the product weight, 800 grams, well below the current console about 4 Kg, which would lead one to think that the image is on the production of some components, such as the case, rather than the entire console: even if it were a Slim console, in fact it is unlikely a similar decrease in weight.

However, if the photo is real, the fact that Microsoft has begun producing an Xbox One "second generation" as early as February, producing 400,000 units per month, it is a sign that it is preparing to launch in the coming months. At the same time, however, these volumes are not such as to suggest to the launch of a brand new console, as the mysterious "Xbox Next" more powerful rumoreggiata recently.

The most plausible hypothesis is that Microsoft is preparing to launch in the coming months a new iteration of Xbox One, maybe slim or more compact: the announcement could be made at E3 in June, and the console deployment could take place at the announcement. Moreover, a similar move has precedents: the Xbox 360 S was announced at E3 2010 and arrived in stores a few weeks later.

Microsoft is announcing a revision of the Xbox One for E3? Stay tuned to find out!
