AMD suggests the arrival of three new consoles: a new Xbox will be among them?
Something might be in motion even on Xbox. AMD has announced tonight during a report to shareholders, who are preparing three SOC (System on a Chip, chip only which include both CPU and GPU, like Xbox One) customized for many customers in the world of gaming, for which the company is expecting a gain of about $ 1 million over the next few years.
Two of these chips are easily adjustable: one would be that of the new Nintendo console NX, another could end up in the infamous PS4 NEO ... and the third? Could it possibly be used for a new Xbox?
Particularly interesting are the timing of production of these chips: AMD says that deliveries of one of these will be the most massive in the second half of this year, and this could be related to Nintendo NX, but all three systems connected to these chips will be launched by 2017. This could mean that, whatever I planned Microsoft, might not arrive before next year.
Obviously could not be an enhanced Xbox One: the new SOC might not be more powerful but just smaller and lesser consumption, which would lead to the creation of an Xbox One Slim, smaller and cheaper.
We just have to wait for E3, scheduled for mid-June, to find out whether Microsoft will make announcements about. Stay tuned!
