Thomas Happ Games announced today that Axiom Verge will be released also on Xbox One later this year, after having already been published on PS4 and PC. The game is a " metroidvania " old school, that will just pose as Trace , a scientist who wakes up after a laboratory accident in an alien world and hostile; We must try to understand the origin of the alien world and our role. The gameplay, similar to Super Metroid , Contra and Blaster Master , will be a mix of exploration, power-ups, strange creatures, and boss battles.

We will use a variety of power-ups that will help us to reach new areas in the game and to solve some puzzles. Among the various power-ups are weapon Nova , which can be used in two different ways: we can fire bullets as a normal weapon, or explode in midair by dividing it into six pieces in order to eliminate any enemy that crosses our path.

Another particularly interesting weapon is called Drill , a drill that will allow us to create alternative routes in order to explore their surroundings thus having a better chance of finding weapons and potions to regenerate their health. We may also use a special ray gun called Disruptor , which will allow us to alter reality around us, creating numerous problems to our enemies.
