Gears of War 4: more information from Game Informer, contains a piece of Italy
First we recall information already known: the game will be set 25 years after the events of GoW 3, we will see impersonate JD Fenix, son of Marcus Fenix, who having defected to mysterious reasons the COG finds himself in an adventure with friends Kait Diaz and Delmont Walker. Split-screen co-op confirmed for 2 players, not yet announced that online (but we obviously take for granted).
Now the new details: developers reveal that, after the bomb explosion at the end of Evening GoW 3 on Imulsion were destroyed all types of fossil fuels. Not only: the planet began to be hammered by violent wind storms and fire describable as a sort of fusion between a hurricane and a volcano "(with 4 levels of intensity, from simple breeze storm able to influence even on weapons and fighting, until you get to powerful events with fire and lightning in which we won't have to do anything but seek shelter and survive) so much so that mankind has had to take refuge in the city protected by high walls to find shelter from hostile climatic conditions. Outside of these cities were born of "outsiders", outcasts who try to survive in hostile territories. There are also huge pits into which were thrown the corpses of Locusts at the end of the war, why were so many that it was impossible to bury them all.
And here is the point of our country: The Coalition revealed that the environments in the game are strongly inspired by the North of Italy, specifically with regard to forests, forts and other architectural elements. The developers also explains that, with the new game, they want to try to get back to the roots more gloomy and almost frightening in the first game of the series: this will really help the fact that the protagonists are three guys who will have to defend itself isolated from COG, and survive on their own. The story takes place over a period of time, in-game, by 24 hours.
The story begins in the village of outsiders in which he lives and where JD and Kait Delmont took refuge after deserted the COG: here the three boys attend unarmed to the invasion of the village by a new and mysterious power called "the swarm" (The Swarm). The first mission sees them flee into the forest, where they discover the enormous cocoons from which emerge monstrous anthropomorphic creatures. These creatures, called "young" ("Juvie"), can evolve into "Drones" (in homage to the original trilogy), who are able to use the weapons.
There will also be the "Pouncer", the monstrous being seen in the demo last E3, that here we are told to be able to react to the behavior of the player: If this stays, Pouncer shoots him a poisonous liquid, while it remains in cover being seeks to address it.
As for weapons, these will be simple work tools modified to support the fight, and you can even make your shoulder with run-up that will weaken enemies. We will also be able to use to our advantage the storms; for example by shooting in favor of wind will increase the range of weapons while firing into the wind might even stop and return against the bullets, which can be used strategically with the enemies. This tells us that the fighting will, at least initially, more closely spaced than in the past. Of course we will find again the roofing system made famous by series, but changed to make easier the jumps with calcium and killings with dagger from behind the covers. The enemies will still be able to grab players into coverage and pull them out to run for shots at close range.
Obviously the game will give great emphasis to multiplayer, and developers say they want to please both players more "relaxed" than those more competitive or professional eSports, a bit like Halo 5 accomodated the two categories offering both the Arena (competitive) that the Warzone (mostly recreational). As for the Horde mode, you took unbalance but claimed that they know how much fans love, and that it "won't be disappointed".
That's all for now: of course we'll bring news soon will emerge more readily, as we hope to show you as soon as possible the images coming from the magazine: stay tuned!
