Microsoft announces the cancellation of Fable Legends, Lionhead Studios closing
Suppose Redmond executives were not satisfied with the long development time of Fable Legends , and they have decided to end it all rather than protracting it for another long months; also now that the founder and charismatic leader of the study, Peter Molyneux, is no longer part of the team, evidently the company no longer sees much value in the study itself.
The news does not end here: Microsoft has announced the closure of Press Play, capable Danish studio known for Max: The Curse of Brotherhood and Kalimba , currently engaged on the interesting Project Knoxville (which will follow then the fortunes of the study).
In both cases the official reason is that Microsoft wants to focus investments on the development of the franchise's most beloved by the players, although it is questionable why the sinking of a franchise, to Fable , certainly much loved at least in its classical form, the single-player RPG.
The company is keen to point out how will still invest heavily on the development of European projects, citing names like Quantum Break of Remedy, Sea of Thieves of Rare and Golds of Moon Studios.
