Phil Spencer suggests that Xbox One might have hardware upgrades in the future

In the Xbox and Win10 Showcase held last week in San Francisco, Phil Spencer made a very interesting statement: the Xbox Division explained that Xbox and Windows PCs 10 are now part of the Universal Platform , which sees a clear separation between the operating system and the software that runs on top of us-and the hardware.

This not only means that more and more titles will be developed for both platforms, but also that the same Xbox One could be untied from the concept of fixed hardware console.

Spencer has explained that, but has not yet officially decided, rather than release a new console to Xbox One, Microsoft could simply decide to release new versions of the increasingly powerful console, just like Apple and other manufacturers make annually with their smartphones and tablets.

This would mean that, like in the mobile world, all games developed for earlier versions of the platform would still be compatible with later models, and also future games could remain compatible with older console even if shooting with lower performance. Of course some developers might decide to make their games compatible only with the new console, just as today some iOS games only run on latest iPhone/iPad.

We must prepare ourselves to successive iterations of "2", "New Xbox Xbox One One" and so on, with increasingly powerful hardware but compatible with all existing securities Park? In that case we would obviously have to expect that retailers would make of "scrapping" to withdraw the current models and sell new hardware at a reduced price. You would be willing to spend each year 2, 3 or 400 Euros to get a more powerful console?

We will be waiting for any news about it and I will report promptly.
