A forum user, identifying himself simply as developer, stated that in 2016 we will not see any new series title: that's because Ubisoft would be working on a complete revamp of the franchise in terms of gameplay with " a feeling to The Witcher ", mechanics of character evolution and a new combat system.

According to the rumor, the title fruit of that revolution is made by the team of Black Flag and series creator, Ubisoft Montreal is set in Egypt and would come out in 2017.
