Rumor: Microsoft readies a new Xbox One with AMD Polaris

The WCFF Tech site has published an interesting rumor that Microsoft and AMD they would be working secretly on a new APU-the chips in a single package CPU, GPU and other accessories-Xbox One. According to the rumor the new APU would be more powerful especially on the GPU, and could be based on the upcoming AMD architecture Polaris that seems to promise higher performance than current APU.

If this were true, this does not mean the arrival of an Xbox One more powerful: such a scenario is highly unlikely especially since would fragment the audience. If Microsoft would find a way to ensure that the games were compatible with all consoles but turning with improved performance/graphics on the most powerful model, this would indeed disparities in online arenas eventually encourage buyers of the new console, a scenario certainly undesirable.

The most plausible scenario is that the new APU is used for rumoreggiata Xbox TV, only compatible with the Windows Store, in which case a different architecture and power would not be in the way, and above all the chips might also be less powerful, leading to less expenditure of energy and heat production in order to be so employed on a small device.

Microsoft really is prepared to reveal new hardware? Stay tuned to find out if it is really so.
