Phil Spencer: Xbox One could have backward compatibility with the first Xbox in future

One of the most important and effective moves made this year by the Xbox team is undoubtedly the backwards compatibility of the console: not only does this allow the Xbox 360 titles continue to play it on Xbox One, but also to create interesting offerings like the bundling of old-gen games with their next generation followed (see for example Fallout Fallout 3 free 4 or all previous Gears given away to those who play Ultimate GoW) or the doubling of Games With Gold monthly titles by backwards compatibility than 360.

But there is another opportunity that might interest fans of retrogaming: compatibility with the titles of the first Xbox. Imagine being able to play titles like JSRF , Rallisport Challenge , the first Project Gotham Racing , Panzer Dragoon Orta , Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic , Jade Empire , Morrowind , Ninja Gaiden !

Well, this scenario could become a reality: when asked by a fan on Twitter , Xbox boss Phil Spencer has responded by pressing the star very team of backwards compatibility with this request, but first you need to complete to Xbox 360, coming in November.

And if you think about it, might not be either too complex for Microsoft: Xbox 360 already had backwards towards the first Xbox, then the task of developers would be simply to bring this solution on the new console. This would make it the first console Xbox 360 backwards compatible natively, and does not download via porting as happens on the Wii's Virtual Console U PS2 titles or present on PSN, with games of two generations ago. We hope to welcome you soon good news in this sense.
