In the last hours began to circulate an image that would reveal the Games With Gold in August: Ryse and Slash Dash for Xbox One, Catherine and Fallout: New Vegas for Xbox 360. The news is starting to go around the web, but we want to warn you that it is, in all probability, a hoax.

The elements that lead us to think that there are many. First for Ryse shows the Legendary Edition, i.e. one including all the DLC, which instead the GWG did not damage ever: free titles offered by MS are always basic versions without DLC. The image of the cover is slightly misaligned with respect to the other, which suggests a rough amateur work.

Then there is SlashDash : is a title ID @ Xbox being rolled out on the Store, and not never propose GWG games released for a few days or weeks because, obviously, this indispettirebbe those who have just bought them. The Games program offers completely new games or, as in the case of the recent So Many Me , or many months old titles.

Last clue: in the image above you can clearly see the bar of a Windows window, as if someone had created, he then opened in Windows Photo Viewer and he took a picture of the screen to make it more real. With this system it is very easy to forge an image giving it a Halo to assess budgetary performance to date, as if it had been "stolen" from one monitor; for example, someone could create one with the surprise announcement of Halo 5 among the GWG in August , maybe is even better than this alleged leaked image.

So don't hold your breath: it is likely that the Games With Gold in August will be other titles, although it is very likely that in the coming months, one of the games offered for free will own Ryse . We will update when we have news or leak more credible official.

Update : the Xbox Division Chief Phil Spencer is now spoken about explaining on Twitter that the image is false.
