Digital Foundry: patch 1.07 worsens the frame-rate in The Witcher 3
Eurogamer section Digital Foundry has analyzed the game's performance before and after applying the patch, discovering that on Xbox One was now applied the same block at 20 fps already present on PS4, which intervenes when the game starts to notice frame-rate drops: basically what happens is that, instead of float freely between 20 and 30 fps in situations of greater load , the game freezes the frame-rate to 20 fps until the scene starts to shallow, thus creating less problems of frame-pacing and give the impression of a frame-rate more stable. In fact this strength at 20 fps frame-rate even when this could go to 28, creating an average decrease of 8 fps in crowded situations .
This is obviously not by drastic declines or particularly detrimental to gameplay, but it is at least unusual that a patch, whose aim should be to improve the game-and in many things it does, as in inventory management and balancing of arms-to introduce performance degradation. Expect comments about it from developers.
