Phil Spencer announces compatibility with 360 and cross-platform multiplayer

The first E3 bombshell was dropped: Xbox 360 will be backwards compatible with Xbox One games and the games will have a cross-platform multiplayer, allowing us to not only play with friends on Xbox One but also with those that have a 360 version of the title.

Xbox news is the head Phil Spencer who assisted by Mike Ybarra explained how 360 titles will be downloadable in digital format on Xbox One by a special section of the store and that the titles on disk that already have may be used to "redeem" the digital counterpart of the game. Backwards compatibility will be available from the Christmas period, although members preview will start to test this new and highly anticipated features. Below is the announcement trailer.
