Brandon Winfrey, Community Manager of Insomniac Games, explained in a recent interview that in Sunset Overdrive , despite being considered an Open World title, you will not be able to drive cars. Winfrey explains why that decision: " you won't be able to drive vehicles in Sunset Overdrive just because you yourself the vehicle, driving a car would not slow down the gaming experience negatively ." And from what seen so far in the game, doesn't have a point: will be definitely faster running along the walls of the buildings or sliding on railings and telephone wires rather than driving a car in Monster-infested streets.

The Community Manager reiterates that "the world of Sunset Overdrive is not intended only horizontally but we created a game world that you expressed vertically, and we want to reward those players who know how to juggle with skill through the city streets".
