When EA announced that Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare would be released without support for microtransactions, not excluded, however, that these could not arrive at a later time. And that time has now arrived: the American publisher announced that during the week the game will be updated to support the purchase with real currency in-game coins needed to unlock new content and accessories for the various characters.

So far the only way to earn these coins was playing and winning matches, and this won't change: who doesn't want to use microtransactions can then continue to use the game as done so far without noticing any difference. Those who want a "shortcut" to obtain certain objects, can now spend his real money to get it.
