According to internal sources of CNet, Microsoft is at work on a new personal narrator like Siri, that Apple will be integrated into future versions of its products like Xbox, Windows Phone, Windows 8 and 8.1. The codename for this project would be Cortana, the artificial intelligence of the Halo series and enable users to fully interact on Microsoft devices using only voice commands to issue commands (as is already possible today) but also to get information and interact in a more natural.

With regard to the mobile world, Cortana will also include an app for Windows Phone which will include notifications, weather information, calendar events, information about the location and access to bluetooth controls, more or less as already happens with Google Now on Android, while on the Xbox One is not yet clear what will be the characteristics of Cortana.

The project will be based on Cloud technology to connect together all Microsoft products: if it were confirmed, would arrive in early 2014 with the Windows Phone update to version 8.1 and probably with a special update from the Xbox One.
