Microsoft announced today that, due to the discontinuation of Microsoft Points, Xbox Live Rewards system will be replaced with a new one that will be announced this coming September 1, 2013.

In an email sent to us members of the program, Microsoft has pursued specifically saying that:

"Since the change from Microsoft points to local currency is influencing the structure of the program, we are taking the opportunity to make Xbox Live Rewards even better and you will receive rewards for all you do on Xbox Live. We invite you to return on September 1 the rewards.xbox.com site for more information. "
