Kojima clarifies on Ground Zeroes: is the prologue of MGS V

During the GDC conference yesterday, Hideo Kojima had explained that Metal Gear Solid v: The Phantom Pain is the Union of Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain, understanding that you would for a single game. Thereupon a Konami spokesman explained that these are two separate games, introducing some confusion on the subject.

The Japanese producer is then intervened on Twitter to clarify the issue: " Ground Zeroes is the prologue of MGS v. 9 years after that event will take place The Phantom Pain. MGS V is structured with a prologue and the main game TPP. The demonstration of gameplay that I have shown today is the beginning of TPP and consists of a tutorial that starts from the crawl. "

It therefore seems that, although both will be part of Metal Gear Solid v: The Phantom Pain , it will be two distinct game phases, a first-person narrative prologue's events that led to a coma by Big Boss (who mistakenly thought to be Snake), called Ground Zeroes , and one which represents the main game after the awakening of the protagonist, called The Phantom Pain . Something similar to that seen in its time in MGS 2, which was divided between the prologue and main game.
