Early rumors about next-gen performance differences: 3 more memory Xbox, PS4 speedier

Are increasingly the incessant rumor about the new Xbox. The indiscretion of today concerns a subject very dear to fans: performance differences between the next Microsoft and Sony. According to the information received by VG247 and straight from the recent CES, the next PlayStation should have more processing power than the next Xbox. On the other hand, it seems that Microsoft will have a greater amount of memory usable by developers.

Some developers, talking with the British site after CES, revealed that the CPU of the PS4 will have a computational power roughly 1.84 teraFLOPs (one teraflops equals one trillion floating point operations per second), while Xbox 3 is steady at about 1.23 teraFLOPs. It is therefore a discrepancy of 33% more computational power for the Sony console.

On the front RAM, on the other hand, the same sources revealed that the next Xbox will be able to count on well 8 GB 3 of which will be occupied by OS and multimedia applications that must remain in the background, leaving about 5 GB of RAM at. the new home console Sony will instead 4 GB total, of which 1 GB dedicated to OSe leaving 3 GB, 2 less than the competitor at the games. It seems rather confirmed that both consoles will have a player for Blu-ray discs to 100 GB.

Thus, if a side are Sony took the lead on the performance side, the console should Microsoft succeed better in all those sectors that deal with memory usage, how to define the textures, the vastness of the areas of play without loads, and so forth.

For now it is only speculation, as always, they will find confirmation in the official announcements of their homes: until then we take everything with the pliers until the next inevitable rumor.
