- Red Fog: wounds will degrade the soldier's statistics
- Absolutely Critical: a shot of support ensures a critical hit
- The Greater Good: Psionics skill could be learned by querying an alien Disrupter
- Marathon: the game will take much longer to be completed
- Results Driven: a country will offer less money with increasing panic
- High Stakes: will there be random rewards for the arrest of the alien abduction
- Diminishing Returns: rising costs of construction of the satellite
Only available after completing the game on Impossible difficulty level:
- More Than Human: Psionic gift will be extremely rare
- War Weariness: scemeranno funding with the passage of time
- E-115: Elerium degrades over time
- Total Loss: the death of the soldier will lose all equipment
- Alternate Sources: the cost of an energy source to build considerably increases implants
In interviews the guys at Firaxis have asserted that these options were designed originally for already the game and then withdrawn due to lack of time. Sure, will give a nice jolt to game balance.
