Disney Infinity: the first details revealed by a leak
An interesting detail is the fact that none of the information extrapolated from Polygon gets nod from plastic toys that can be used to interact with the game in Skylanders style: this may be a feature addition at a later date than when the videos were in possession of the site, or the previous rumor could prove wrong; to clarify on this point we will have to wait until the official unveiling in January.
A very interesting given that emerges from new information, however, concerning the nature of the game itself, the site describes it as belonging to the genus sandbox and a cross between Minecraft and an action game to Just Cause: this is because the title will be centered around a strong creative component, allowing players to create their own scenarios or modify existing ones with the possibility of a large number of different games: from action, racing platformer. The title will have a set of predefined and playset thematized according to different worlds Disney-Toy Story, Cars, Ralph Hammer, Pirates of the Caribbean and so on-in which players will take adventures to goals, but will also feature a "Loose room", a sort of blank canvas on which to build our worlds using a large quantity of items.
The game will offer us all the most famous characters of the Disney World (apparently with the exception of Mickey Mouse and company), each with specific abilities (over 30 in total): not everyone can do the same things, such as taking part in racing or riding on horseback. Among the most original skills was cited a "sticky little hand" used by Woody Toy Story scenario for hooking on the fly an aircraft led by Buzz Lightyear and get carried away in the sky, much like we saw with the grapple of Rico in Just Cause. Other examples include a scene in which a player places down a large Slingshot to throw explosives and toys from the walls of a castle, or another in which the player builds a racing track assemble different pieces then come on as Lightning McQueen. The whole thing will be playable either alone or in the company: there has been talk of a split-screen mode but has not ruled out the presence of online support.
The game is developed by Avalanche Software, authors of the excellent game Toy Story 3, and takes its inspiration from "toy box" that was present in that title to expand it into a vast and complete game that defines the Polygon extremely ambitious. Apparently Disney's intentions are to make the title a real "gaming platform" to expand continually over time with new features, worlds and characters as they are new products: animated films are also provided for multiplatform interactions between consoles, PC, web and mobile devices even if for now it is unclear what it will be.
Waiting to know if this information will be confirmed officially, we leave you with a set of images released by Polygon.
