EA: Dead Space 1 and 2 were too scary

The head of marketing at EA Laura Honey explained to MCV that the company has conducted studies among the holders of the first two Dead Space and discovered that many, whilst appreciating the voltage present in the games, they were too frightening. This has led the company's managers to make a reflection on amendments to be made to the series in order to catch up with Dead Space 3 a wider audience, and has arrived at the decision to introduce the cooperative.

Honey explains that in this way we have tried to make the experience less terrifying allowing players to experience it together with a friend, while maintaining unchanged the inspirational component of the game: " the horror of Dead Space is still present in its entirety. The game is still faithful to the origins and no less scary, but people feel more at ease playing it next to someone rather than alone. Personally, I would prefer to see a horror movie with my husband rather than alone at home with the lights off. We want to exploit this factor to reach those consumers who maybe were not very likely to play with Dead Space 1 and 2. "

The game is expected in the first quarter of 2013: we will tell you and show you more about it in less than a month, during the GamesCom in Cologne.
