Chuck Beaver, author of the story of Dead Space , had defined the screenplay of Gears of War " literally the worst of the world games ". Evidently similar criticism prompted Epic Games to turn back the page. After Joshua Ortega, replaced by Karen Traviss in Gears of War 3 , the British writer received a rejection: is Tom Bissell to take his place to write the plot of Gears of War: Judgment .

Tom Bissell is an award-winning novelist and certainly is not a new face for Epic Games, as author of art books in the Collector's Edition of Gears of War 3 . Bissell is not just in the draft screenplay by Gears of War: Judgment , being joined by Rob Auten, a former collaborator of Twentieth Century Fox.

The reason that prompted the developer to further change can be traced back to a past statement by Cliff Bleszinski: " the goal was to make Gears of War much more like Band of Brothers, with a more serious look. For the future we would like to return to that style ".

New authors will be present, together with Gears of War: Judgment , the upcoming Comic-Con in San Diego from 12 to 15 July.
