Deep Silver announced the upcoming release of a new downloadable content that will enrich the story of acclaimed Dead Island.

This new downloadable content tells the story of Dead Island "from the viewpoint of Ryder White, the antagonist of the game. Finally will come to light the true motivations behind his actions, and in this new adventure will emerge not only as a man of war, but also as a loving husband.

DLC offers new Ryder White as playable character and a new single player campaign which guarantees many hours of fun and exciting background information on the events of Dead Island. In addition, the arsenal available in the main game, already remarkable in itself, we will be adding new projects and armaments.

The downloadable content will be available on February 1, 2012 for the digital entertainment system, PlayStation ® 3, Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC. Will be available at 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE ® and 9.99 € on PlayStation ® Store and Steam.

All these gameplay features are presented from a dark story inspired by the classic zombie film, along with a raw and exciting campaign, playable in cooperative mode with up to four players.

On a tropical island completely browsable, hordes of bloodthirsty zombies await players around every corner, while they are engaged in a series of exciting quests through the tourist village. To address the scarcity of firearms and ammunition, players must use everything located to defend themselves and repel the zombie, struggling fiercely hand-to-hand. A wide variety of objects can be collected, for transforming makeshift weapons players into real tools of destruction.
