2K Games has finally announced the official release date of XCOM, the FPS in development at 2K Marin studios and they had gone missing immediately after the presentation at E3 2010, set for Europe March 9, 2012. Take-Two also announced that it is no longer an exclusive (it was previously provided only on Xbox 360 and PC) and will be available for all platforms.

The game is inspired by classic turn-based strategy to remotely X-Com, from which it inherits the theme of the battle of men against an alien invasion and brings in a mix of first-person investigation and direct action. The story we will play as an FBI agent dealing with the alien menace.
