Take Two has announced an extension of its agreement with the NBA, offering "many years" following the success of NBA 2K11, the most popular title of the series in thirteen years of history as well as the best-selling title in the history of 2K Sports.

2K Sports, Take-Two says that "explore new opportunities for licensed NBA games, including online and social platforms."

"The NBA 2K series and continues to be essential for the growth of Take Two," said Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Software House, on the agreement.

"We are confident that our renewed partnership with the NBA will expand the unparalleled success of the series. We are happy to do business with David, Adam and the entire NBA team."

On the other hand, the NBA deputy commissioner, Adam Silver, added: "2K Sports gives our fans an incredible gaming experience that captures both the enthusiasm of our game that the athleticism of our players."

Fans of the series will definitely be happy with this contract extension. On the other hand does not know if next year we will see NBA 2k12, as the NBA, its teams and its players have not yet agreed to the collective agreement which expires June 30. If the NBA had to stop and play 2K Sports, the 2011/2012 season, perhaps even stop for a year and then return the following year with a title in the series even more surprising.
