Atari today announced the development of Star Raiders, a remake of a famous first-person shooter with visual released in 1979 on the Atari 2600. Being developed by Incinerator Studios, the title is expected on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in the next year and propose a novel campaign, a co-op and competitive multiplayer segment. Attendiamoci a total redesign, but a gameplay that will resume in some respects that proposed in the original game, it will meet the tactical maps and portals space, qualities that have made this shooter.

Operate the game from the galactic map was a unique experience, according to the chairman of Incinerator Joel Goodman, even classifiable as a thrilling experience. We'll see then if the new Star Raiders will prove as exciting as the title of 1979.
