In an interview with Joystiq, Lars Bakken from Bungie said that Halo: Reach will be the last game of the Halo series that will be developed by software house that made it famous, or at least for the moment: "Maybe in future, who knows? You never say never, things often change. Maybe in ten years we decide to make another Halo, but for the moment, yes, this is the last. " Even leaving Bungie announced that Halo 3 was the last game in the series made from them, but apparently did not happen.
