Activision Call of Duty prepare an action-adventure

Recently there have been several rumors about the future of the Call of Duty and yesterday, through an official press release, Activision has clarified the situation. In addition to the historical team, or Infinity Ward and Treyarch, has now added even Sledgehammer Games, a label founded by some of the authors of Dead Space, which, however, will leave the FPS genre to create a title from the mechanical action-adventure, something more similar a Gears of War or maybe a Splinter Cell

As for the games in development, the situation is as follows: Infinity Ward is working on two packs for the latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but according to speculation emerged in recent days, it would also focus on two other projects, Modern Warfare is the first 3 while the second should be an MMOG always dedicated to this series. Treyarch is working on the seventh chapter of the series, confirmed outbound exit the year. The game is rather Sledgehammer Games in 2011: for this year is confirmed though another FPS series, which could be probably the MW3 of Infinity.

Activision also announced the dismissal of two executives Inifnity, Vince Zampella and Jason West, accused the publisher of "insubordination", their places are taken now by Steve Pearce (to become CTO, Chief Technology Officer) and Steve Ackrich (new director Division's development).
